Death & Co. Denver

Death & Co. Denver brings the legendary precision of the New York cocktail institution to a grand, salon-style lobby bar inside RiNo’s Ramble Hotel.

Death & Co. Denver opened in May 2018 as the first-ever sister location to the legendary East Village, New York cocktail institution, trading its original dark, subterranean footprint for the soaring, double-height lobby of The Ramble Hotel in the River North Art District. Founded by David Kaplan, Alex Day, and Ravi DeRossi, this Mile High outpost translates the meticulous hospitality of the flagship into a grand, salon-like environment designed by AAmp Studio and Avenue Interior Design. The room is anchored by massive custom crystal chandeliers by Spike Lighting that dim from a bright daytime glow to a rich, golden hue at dusk. Underneath, herringbone-patterned beech and maple hardwood floors meet grey marble and black penny tiles, while deep blue walls, heavy velvet draperies, and plush tufted banquettes invite guests to linger over their glasses.

The cocktail program, originally established by beverage director Tyson Buhler and inaugural bar manager Alex Jump, is a masterclass in precision and prep. Rather than replicating the New York menu, the Denver team creates its own seasonal, highly curated drinks that are entirely unique to this location. The extensive menu is divided into six distinct flavor profiles: Fresh & Lively, Light & Playful, Bright & Confident, Elegant & Timeless, Boozy & Honest, and Rich & Comforting. This thoughtful categorization helps patrons navigate complex ingredient lists that might include house-made infusions, rare modifiers, and local spirits like Leopold Bros. whiskey. For those seeking lighter options, the menu features a sophisticated selection of low-ABV and non-alcoholic drinks that receive the same rigorous care and presentation as their spirit-forward counterparts.

Beyond the main lobby bar, the Death & Co. team manages a multi-layered ecosystem of food and drink spaces throughout the hotel. During the day, the lobby operates as DC/AM, a morning coffee bar and eatery serving espresso and breakfast. Ascending to the second floor reveals The Garden, a lush, open-air courtyard bar perfect for warm-weather drinking. For those seeking the intimate, exclusive feel of the original Manhattan speakeasy, Suite 6A is a cozy, 21-seat mezzanine lounge overlooking the grand lobby, offering classic drinks from the company's archive and rotating themed pop-ups like the Japanese-inspired Sakura Bar. To accompany the drinks, a full culinary menu ranges from savory snacks like smoked trout to hearty dinner entrees, capped off by their famous banana-liqueur-infused chocolate chip cookies, which are baked to be crispy on the edges and soft in the center.
