Reid Creek Lodge stands as a private, exclusive-use outpost on the historic 300,000-acre Wagonhound Land & Livestock ranch in east-central Wyoming. Under the stewardship of owners Catherine and Art Nicholas, who purchased the historic property in 1999, and Wagonhound Holdings CEO Andrea Nicholas Perdue, this 8,000-square-foot lodge was thoughtfully converted from an existing ranch building to welcome private groups. The lodge is booked for only one group at a time, accommodating up to 22 guests across seven wildlife-themed bedrooms. Inside, the design balances rugged frontier heritage with refined comfort, featuring an open floor plan centered around a massive stone fireplace, a long communal dining table, a pool table, and intimate seating areas designed to foster connection.

Culinary offerings at the lodge are entirely bespoke, led by a private chef who designs menus around seasonal Western flavors. Mornings begin with leisurely, family-style breakfasts before guests head out on tailored excursions, while lunches can be packed for trailside picnics or served on the back porch as wildlife passes by. Dinners are sophisticated, multi-course affairs paired with curated wines, often concluding around an outdoor campfire. Guests also have the option to take a creek-side cocktail wagon ride to the ranch's majestic Headquarters Lodge for an evening out. Because Wagonhound is an active, working commercial cattle ranch raising Red Angus and farming thousands of acres of alfalfa, the lodge experience remains deeply tied to the rhythms of authentic Western life rather than tourist artifice.

Bespoke itineraries are executed by private guides who lead guests across a territory that matches the scale of a private national park. Horseback riding is central to the experience, drawing from the ranch's world-class equestrian program and its own remuda of award-winning American Quarter Horses. Guests receive hands-on instruction at the Wagonhound Arena before riding out into the Laramie Range, where elevations climb from 5,000 to 9,000 feet amid towering granite formations and ponderosa pines.
