Adrift Hotel

An industrial-coastal boutique hotel on the Long Beach Peninsula, featuring a top-floor restaurant, an on-site craft distillery, and a saline pool.

Adrift Hotel stands at the edge of the Pacific dunes in Long Beach, Washington, transforming a former mid-century motel into a model of coastal sustainability. Reimagined in 2011 by local high-school sweethearts Tiffany and Brady Turner, the 82-room property reflects a deep commitment to the ecology of the Long Beach Peninsula. The design eschews traditional beach-kitsch in favor of a raw, industrial-coastal aesthetic. Throughout the lobby and guest rooms, guests find polished concrete floors, custom-welded steel bed frames, and warm wood accents crafted from reclaimed local ship-lap and salvaged timber. Every single room is completely pet-friendly, welcoming dogs of all sizes with zero weight restrictions, reinforcing the hotel's relaxed, communal spirit.

The culinary heart of the property sits on the fourth floor at the Pickled Fish, a panoramic restaurant and lounge that looks out over the grassy dunes and the ocean boardwalk. Here, the menu emphasizes hyper-local, sustainable ingredients sourced directly from Pacific Northwest purveyors, featuring fresh Willapa Bay oysters, house-baked pastries, and wild-caught seafood. The bar highlights biodynamic wines, regional microbrews, and craft cocktails, while serving as a prominent venue for the local music scene with live bands playing throughout the week. Just steps from the main building, guests can visit Adrift Distillers, the on-site craft distillery where the Turners produce small-batch gin, whiskey, and specialty liqueurs using grain and botanicals grown in Washington.

Beyond dining and drinking, the hotel offers a range of hands-on amenities designed for active relaxation. Guests can borrow complimentary cruiser bicycles to ride along the adjacent 8.5-mile Lewis and Clark Discovery Trail, which winds through the coastal pine forests and dunes. After a day of exploring, the property provides access to a heated, covered saline swimming pool, a barrel-style cedar sauna, and a full-service spa specializing in hot stone massages. The lobby operates as a social hub, stocked with locally roasted coffee, wildcrafted teas, and a curated selection of regional snacks and wines. Through its thoughtful reuse of materials and focus on community partnerships, Adrift Hotel offers a grounded, sensory connection to the Washington coast.
