Verde Ranch RV Resort

Situated on a wide bend of the Verde River, this modern valley resort features upscale RV sites, furnished cabins, and glamping wagons under exceptionally dark desert skies.

Verde Ranch RV Resort is a modern, highly structured valley outpost situated directly on a wide bend of the Verde River in Camp Verde, Arizona. Unlike older, more cramped campgrounds in the region, this sprawling development is designed with a spacious, grid-like layout that balances high-end resort amenities with direct access to the riparian corridor. The property features 389 full-hookup RV sites equipped with 30 and 50-amp electrical service, offering a mix of back-in and pull-through options that accommodate large rigs up to 75 feet. For travelers arriving without a road rig, the resort provides 16 fully furnished vacation cottages and ten dedicated glamping units, including custom-designed safari tents and Western-inspired Conestoga wagons. The entire resort is situated at an elevation of over 3,000 feet, meaning daytime temperatures remain warm while nights bring a crisp, desert chill, particularly during the winter months.

The architecture and layout of the resort place a strong emphasis on community spaces and outdoor recreation. At the center of the property lies a large, modern clubhouse featuring a fitness center, billiard tables, shuffleboard, and an arcade room. Outside, the recreation area includes a heated swimming pool, two hot tubs, a splash pad for children, and multiple pickleball courts. Pet owners have access to the K9 Corner, a dedicated dog park equipped with turf. Despite its proximity to Interstate 17, which introduces some highway hum on the western edge of the grounds, the resort maintains a close connection to the natural environment. A designated launch point allows guests to put kayaks directly into the Verde River, one of the state's few remaining free-flowing river systems, where the slow-moving current is shaded by stands of mature cottonwood and sycamore trees. Guests can spend the afternoon drifting down the river or casting lines for channel catfish and native roundtail chub.

Accommodations at the resort cater to varying preferences for comfort and style. The 16 climate-controlled cottages are available in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom configurations, sleeping between two and eight guests. Each cottage features modern interior finishes, a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette, and a private porch complete with a barbecue grill and picnic table. The Conestoga wagons provide a more rustic but comfortable glamping experience, complete with air conditioning to combat the daytime desert heat. Recognized repeatedly in industry awards as one of the top campgrounds in the United States, the resort functions as a well-appointed basecamp. As night falls, the dark skies of the Verde Valley emerge, and guests gather around shared fire pits to stargaze, taking advantage of the area's minimal light pollution while the desert air cools.

Basecamp Tip

If you are sensitive to highway noise, book an interior site or a cabin on the eastern side of the resort, away from the Interstate 17 corridor. For those planning to kayak, check the Verde River's flow rates online before arrival, as summer levels can drop significantly. The covered Conestoga wagons are a great option for families, providing a private, fully plumbed outhouse for each unit.
