Anvil Hotel occupies a prominent corner at 215 North Cache Street, just a block north of Jackson's Town Square. The property began its life in 1955 as the Anvil Inn, established by Harry and Irene Brown and named in honor of Harry's blacksmith shop. Decades later, co-founders Erik Warner and Stephen Chan of Eagle Point Hotel Partners acquired the tired, mid-century motor motel with a vision to transform it into a modern, craft-driven Western lodge. Warner, who first worked in Jackson as a hospitality intern in 1996, teamed up with the Brooklyn-based design studio Studio Tack (now known as Post Company) to execute the extensive renovation. The resulting design strips away the typical clichés of mountain resort lodging, replacing them with a restrained, utilitarian aesthetic that pays homage to the region's frontier history while offering a highly curated experience.

The 49 guest rooms reflect a Shaker-inspired simplicity, balancing rugged Western elements with clean, modern lines. Studio Tack designed the rooms with a distinct masculine palette, featuring two-toned wainscoted walls in deep navy and off-white, parquet floors, and custom black iron bed frames built in collaboration with historic manufacturer Charles P. Rogers. These beds are dressed in high-quality linens and layered with custom-designed Woolrich wool blankets. Additional furnishings include custom-crafted wooden benches by Tretiak Works and side tables by Hedge House. The bathrooms are similarly detailed, equipped with custom brass fixtures, rain showers, and bath products from C.O. Bigelow. Modern conveniences are subtly integrated, including Sangean Bluetooth stereos, flat-screen televisions, and mini-fridges stocked with a curated selection of regional treats like local elk jerky.

Downstairs, the lobby serves as the social heart of the property, operating as a hybrid reception desk, coffee bar, and retail mercantile. Guests gather around a cast-iron wood-burning stove and long wooden tables to drink complimentary custom-blended coffee from Jackson's Snake River Roasters alongside fresh pastries. The retail corner is stocked with high-end outdoor gear and apparel from brands like Snow Peak, Hestra, and Vuarnet. Adjacent to the lobby is Glorietta Trattoria, the hotel's highly regarded on-site restaurant. Glorietta features a warm, energetic dining room designed with rich natural materials, centered around a large bar and a wood-burning hearth. The kitchen specializes in regional Italian fare, serving handmade pastas like cavatelli with spicy sausage and brown butter, alongside wood-fired mains and an extensive, award-winning wine list curated to complement the rustic menu.
