Founded by Amer and Cindy Tumeh, the property began in 1997 with just five executive cabins and an office, built outside the town's historic district to preserve its original character. Over the next two decades, the Tumehs expanded their vision, constructing a massive 30-room lodge in 1999, followed by the Courtyard building, Duke's restaurant, and a secluded event space known as the Secret Garden. Today, the resort remains a family-operated, AAA Three-Diamond property that blends the rugged, monumental scale of the Colorado Plateau with a deep sense of shelter.
