Luxury casitas with private garages and kitchens on a David McLay Kidd-designed golf course near Snow Canyon.
The Inn at Entrada is a luxury desert sanctuary situated within a gated golf community on the red-rock edge of St. George, Utah, just minutes from the sandstone waves of Snow Canyon State Park. Co-founded in 1996 with involvement from Robert Redford, this boutique property comprises 83 southwestern-style rooms, suites, and individual casitas that blend into the high-desert landscape. The resort holds a unique place in pop-culture history: in 2007, it served as the real-life filming location for Disney Channel's High School Musical 2, standing in as the fictional Lava Springs Country Club. Guests today can still walk the same fairways where Zac Efron performed "Bet On It" or lounge by the outdoor pool where the cast filmed "Fabulous" and "All For One" (the resort even outfits guest rooms with a DVD player and a copy of the movie for nostalgic movie nights).
Beyond its Hollywood connections, the property is defined by its premier access to the private Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. Guests of the Inn receive temporary club membership, which unlocks tee times on the championship 18-hole golf course. Originally designed by Johnny Miller, the course underwent a massive, 17-month, seven-million-dollar redesign by acclaimed architect David McLay Kidd, reopening in April 2022. Kidd transformed the layout into a fast-running, links-style ground game course with state-of-the-art bentgrass greens, culminating in a dramatic stretch on holes 15, 16, and 17 that winds directly through ancient, jagged black basalt lava flows. After a day on the links, guests can retreat to the 12,000-square-foot Wellness Center, which includes an indoor lap pool, a full-service spa, and tennis courts alongside a recently expanded lineup of 12 pickleball courts.
The accommodations at the Inn are designed for independent, residential-style comfort. Individual casitas line the ninth fairway, featuring private attached garages, native stone fireplaces, deep jetted tubs, and private patios that look out toward the vermilion cliffs. Many configurations include fully equipped kitchens and spacious living areas adorned with warm earth tones and natural textures. Dining on-property has been completely elevated following a 2.8-million-dollar renovation of the clubhouse culinary spaces. The signature restaurant, Sol Mesa, serves contemporary American dishes like pecan-crusted trout and bourbon salmon in a bright, modern dining room framing the red rocks. Adjacent to the restaurant, the Cactus Rye bar mixes desert-inspired cocktails like prickly pear margaritas, while Koko's Patio offers a relaxed, open-air spot for poolside breakfast and lunch.
Book a casita on the ninth fairway for a private garage and direct red-rock views, and request a tee time on the private David McLay Kidd-designed course when you make your room reservation.
