Limelight Hotel Ketchum

Limelight Hotel Ketchum is a contemporary Main Street basecamp featuring 99 modern rooms, wood-fired dining at The Lounge, and a heated outdoor pool facing Bald Mountain.

Limelight Hotel Ketchum, situated on Main Street on the historic site of the former Bald Mountain Hot Springs Resort, opened in December 2016 as the first expansion of Aspen Hospitality outside of Colorado. Designed by the Aspen-based architecture and interior design firm Rowland & Broughton, the five-story steel, stone, and glass structure was built with a commitment to sustainability, earning a LEED Silver certification. The design team, led by Sarah Broughton, selected natural, earth-toned materials like white oak, reclaimed barn boards, blackened steel, stone, and hemp fiber to evoke the experience of walking through a grove of aspens. The heart of the property is its spacious lobby, envisioned as a civic living room where locals and guests gather around a grand, high-efficiency Element4 three-sided fireplace. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of nearby Bald Mountain, drawing the natural environment directly into the contemporary space.

The property features 99 guest rooms, which include 93 standard and deluxe rooms and six suites, alongside 14 luxury private residences on the upper floors that range from two to five bedrooms. The guest rooms are decorated in a light-and-bright color palette of blonde wood tones, pale carpets, and contemporary upholstered furnishings. Every room is equipped with practical amenities like a wet bar, refrigerator, microwave, espresso maker, and humidifier. Higher-tier accommodations, including the Terrace and Luxury rooms, add gas fireplaces, fully equipped kitchenettes, and private balconies or terraces with outdoor seating. The hotel is notably pet-friendly, offering dedicated rooms that come with complimentary bowls and placemats for travelers with dogs.

Dining at the hotel centers around The Lounge, a lively restaurant and bar that transitions from a casual breakfast area in the morning to a social hub in the afternoon and evening. Guests receive a complimentary daily hot breakfast buffet featuring rotating dishes like frittatas, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and fresh green juice. In the evenings, the menu shifts to comforting, locally sourced dishes such as wood-fired specialty pizzas, bison meatballs, and hand-cut Idaho truffle fries, accompanied by a daily happy hour from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Live music from local musicians fills the space from Thursday through Monday. Just outside the lounge, a heated outdoor pool and two hot tubs occupy a back plaza overlooking the mountains, while additional amenities include an on-site Sturtevants rental shop, complimentary cruiser and fat-tire bikes, and a free shuttle service that transfers guests to Sun Valley's River Run base area and Hailey's Friedman Memorial Airport.

Basecamp Tip

Settle in by the three-sided fireplace in the lobby for the daily happy hour from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where you can order wood-fired pizzas and local Idaho craft beers while enjoying live music Thursday through Monday.
