Tamarack Lodge and Resort, established in 1924, is the oldest continuously operated resort in the Mammoth Lakes Basin. Located at an elevation of 8,500 feet on the forested shores of Twin Lakes, the property was originally built by Mary Foy as a rustic fishing camp for her family, including her famous vaudeville star brother Eddie Foy. Today, the resort balances its historic, rough-hewn character with thoughtful updates, serving as a year-round retreat for those seeking quiet immersion in the Eastern Sierra. The main lodge features a classic timber-and-stone facade, while the surrounding pine forest is dotted with stand-alone cabins that provide a secluded mountain escape.
