A refined Autograph Collection hotel on Jackson's historic Town Square, blending modern mountain luxury with raw Wyoming textures.
The Cloudveil, an Autograph Collection hotel, stands as the only hotel directly on Jackson's historic Town Square, occupying a prominent corner at 112 Center Street that once housed the mid-century Jackson State Bank and Trust. Designed through a collaboration between CLB Architects, TruexCullins, and IBI Group, the three-story property is anchored by the design philosophy "Let Jackson Hole Change You". The exterior blends mixed-use stone walls, wood, and raw metals to complement the surrounding historic Western architecture. Inside, the grand lobby immediately grounds guests with a three-story granite stone wall, a sprawling wood-burning fireplace, and a striking 3,000-pound boulder that has been meticulously repurposed to serve as the front desk. A suspended staircase detailed with steel cables mimics mountaineering rigging, rising against massive, custom-cut stone slabs meant to evoke the jagged peaks of the nearby Teton Range.
The property features 100 guest rooms and suites that reject standard cowboy clichés in favor of refined, modern mountain luxury. Guest quarters are defined by a warm, neutral palette, featuring custom oak beams, plush leather furnishings, and curated landscape photography captured by Jackson Hole natives. Many rooms are equipped with built-in fireplaces, while the premier 875-square-foot Cloudveil Suite offers a dual-sided fireplace, a deep soaking tub, and a private double balcony with front-row views of the elk antler arches on the Town Square. Practical details are woven throughout the guest experience, including "Pantry" stations on each floor that are continually stocked with complimentary local snacks and beverages, alongside luxury bath products by Grown Alchemist.
Culinary experiences center around The Bistro, a Parisian brasserie-style restaurant helmed by acclaimed local restaurateurs Gavin Fine and Roger Freedman of the Fine Dining Restaurant Group. The restaurant features a handsome zinc bar, a fresh oyster bar, and outdoor cafe seating where guests can enjoy French-American classics. Above the square, the hotel's 5,000-square-foot open-air rooftop terrace serves as a year-round communal hub, offering views of Snow King Mountain and the Town Square. The terrace is equipped with a custom retractable canopy, twelve gas-powered heaters, and clear motorized windscreens to counter the unpredictable Wyoming weather. Guests can gather around the open fire pits for stargazing, swim in the heated outdoor pool, or soak in the 103-degree hot tub. In the lobby, the hotel's "Pathfinders" act as dedicated local guides, bypassing standard concierge services to connect guests with backcountry trailheads, wildlife safaris, and coveted dinner reservations across the valley.
Skip the standard concierge and seek out the "Pathfinders" in the lobby to secure prime tables at Gavin Fine's local restaurants or arrange custom backcountry excursions. In the evening, grab a drink from the Bistro's zinc bar and head to the rooftop terrace to sit by the fire pits and watch the alpenglow over Snow King Mountain.
