Waldorf Astoria Park City

A sophisticated alpine estate at the base of Canyons Village, featuring a Baccarat-crystal lobby, a Forbes Four-Star spa, and direct Frostwood Gondola access.

The Waldorf Astoria Park City stands at the base of Park City Mountain’s Canyons Village, translating the brand's historic urban sophistication into the rugged vernacular of a Western alpine resort. Originally opened in 2009 as the Dakota Mountain Lodge before transitioning to the Waldorf Astoria portfolio as its first ski property, the hotel comprises stone-clad, timber-accented buildings arranged around a central courtyard. Stepping into the double-height lobby living room, the immediate focal point is a grand double-sided fireplace clad in chevron-patterned stone tile, flanked by sculpted deer and woven leather sling chairs. Overhead hang massive, handcrafted chandeliers constructed from wrought iron and Baccarat crystals, casting a warm glow over the original marble entryways and rich, dark wood beams that define the mountain-modern aesthetic.

The property features 160 guest rooms, suites, and multi-bedroom residential suites that underwent a comprehensive aesthetic refresh in late 2019. Designed to evoke a well-appointed mountain estate, the accommodations utilize a soothing palette of warm wheat-colored grasscloth walls, cherry-stained wood trim, and patterned wool carpeting in shades of blue and grey. Guest rooms feature gas fireplaces, plush pillowtop beds, and jetted tubs, while the larger multi-bedroom suites add fully equipped kitchens with Viking appliances and granite countertops. Just steps from the main entrance, the dedicated Frostwood Gondola provides effortless, direct transit to the transit hub of Canyons Village, opening up access to the vast skiable terrain of Park City Mountain without the logistical friction of mountain parking.

Culinary experiences center around Powder, the signature on-site restaurant where Executive Chef Stuart Roger showcases an ingredient-driven approach to modern mountain cuisine. The dining room, anchored by a stacked-slate fireplace wall and low-key oak tables, serves seasonal dishes such as mountain trout crudo, avocado burrata, and Navajo-style fry bread topped with sunflower seed hummus and caviar. Guests can also sample 'Pow Day,' a custom pale ale brewed by Park City Brewery exclusively for the hotel, or enjoy Après by Waldorf, which features white wine and garlic cheese fondue in the lounge. Wellness is anchored by the 15,000-square-foot Waldorf Astoria Spa, a Forbes Four-Star facility housing 15 treatment rooms, a fireside relaxation lounge, and a quiet repose room complete with three heated tile lounge chairs and Chihuly-inspired glass art. After a customized therapy, guests are served a superfood smoothie shot, or they can opt for a warm, house-made potassium broth sourced directly from the kitchen. Outside, the large heated pool and dual hot tubs remain open year-round, allowing for a swim while snow falls on the surrounding Wasatch slopes.
