Enney's Ranch is an 850-acre working grain and cattle operation established in 2010 by Kenney Enney on a high ridge overlooking the Salinas Valley. While the surrounding Paso Robles region has largely shifted its focus to wine grapes, this property preserves the agricultural heritage of the Central Coast by dry-farming heirloom grains. Kenney and his partner, Sharon Johnson, have dedicated a significant portion of the acreage to reviving historic California wheat varieties, including Sonora White Wheat, Pacific Bluestem, and Red Fife, which they malt for local craft breweries and distilleries. During the summer months, they produce unique Sun Malts by drying Metcalf two-row barley directly under the intense San Miguel sun rather than using a kiln. A small herd of cattle rotates through the fallow fields, helping to manage the land and maintain the natural beauty of the open range.

The ranch offers a handful of private, secluded glamping sites spaced far apart across the rolling hills, including Blue Bonnet Ridge, Roadrunner Ridge, Coyote Flats, and Shade Oak. Each site features a heavy-duty, ten-by-twelve-foot canvas wall tent pitched on a raised wooden deck. Inside, the rustic exterior gives way to comfortable furnishings: a queen-size bed made up with flannel sheets, extra blankets, a plush comforter, and a propane space heater to keep the space cozy when temperatures drop. Outside, each camp is equipped with its own private fire pit, a picnic table, a cooking station, and a private outhouse. The highlight of the setup is the private, semi-outdoor bathing area, featuring a deep soaking tub and shower supplied with hot running water, allowing guests to bathe while looking out over the golden, oak-dotted canyons.

Hospitality at the ranch is deeply personal, with Kenney and Sharon frequently greeting arrivals with freshly baked sourdough bread or warm, homemade cookies. Guests often spend their mornings watching hot air balloons drift over the neighboring vineyards in the distance, accompanied by the calls of quail and the gentle lowing of the pasture cattle.
