LOGE Westport

A rugged Washington coast surf basecamp featuring gear-ready rooms, covered campsites, and a Nordic-style recovery spa.

LOGE Westport, now transitioning to Gravity Haus Westport, represents a landmark property in the Pacific Northwest's outdoor hospitality scene. Originally a classic midcentury roadside motel known as the Sands Motel, the property was transformed in May 2017 by LOGE Camps founders Johannes Ariens and Cale Genenbacher, serving as the brand's very first location. In mid-2026, the property entered its next chapter when adventure-lifestyle hospitality group Gravity Haus took over management, rebranding the site while preserving its core identity as a premier cold-water surf basecamp. Situated on Montesano Street, just a short distance from the consistent swells of Westhaven State Park Beach and the working harbor of Westport Marina, the property merges utilitarian design with a vibrant, community-first social scene.

The accommodations are meticulously designed to cater to outdoor enthusiasts who prioritize gear and functionality over traditional hotel frills. Across its guestrooms, cabins, and suites, the property features specialized in-room amenities such as ceiling-mounted Kammok hammocks, Yeti coolers that double as coffee tables, Rumpl blankets, MiiR mugs, and dedicated wall-mounted surfboard racks. For travelers on a tighter budget, the property also offers a unique outdoor camping setup, including traditional tent sites, covered campsites with protective roofing for rainy coastal days, and RV sites equipped with utility hookups. A communal indoor kitchen, Traeger grills, and a dedicated wetsuit drying and wash station ensure that cold-water surfers and anglers have everything they need to prep and maintain their gear after a long day in the Pacific.

Beyond the rooms, the property serves as a social hub centered around a series of outdoor fire pits, a covered lounge, and an open-air stage that hosts live music and events. In 2024, the property elevated its wellness offerings by introducing a Nordic-style spa area, complete with a cedar soaking hot tub, a hot rock sauna, and a cold plunge pool, providing essential physical recovery for surfers braving the chilly coastal waters. Gear rentals are managed directly on-site, allowing guests to rent surfboards, wetsuits, booties, stand-up paddleboards, and kayaks, or borrow free cruiser bikes to explore the town. Dining on-site centers around the property's signature cafe, transitioning from the original Sands Cafe to Gravity Haus's Unravel Café and Bar, which serves specialty espresso, breakfast bowls, and grab-and-go options alongside a selection of regional craft beers and wines.

Basecamp Tip

After a cold-water session at the Westport Jetty, head straight to the on-site Nordic spa to cycle between the hot rock sauna and the cold plunge.
